HBKU Press and Nature Research team up to highlight research published on QScience.com

Hamad bin Khalifa University Press and Nature Research have collaborated to bring readers of the Nature, an international weekly journal of science, an in-depth look at some of the most interesting and widely-read research articles available at QScience.com, HBKU Press’s free, online, Open Access, academic research platform.

Launched in September 2011, QScience.com is a peer-reviewed online publishing platform that offers a unique and collaborative research environment for academics, scientists in Qatar and the rest of the world. QScience.com adopts the Open Access publishing model and hosts scholarly journals, conference proceedings, and ebooks. The platform publishes a range of peer-reviewed, high quality, open access conference proceedings and journals which adhere to international publishing standards.

This supplement offers a glimpse into the diversity that QScience.com boasts, by showcasing research highlights of ten of the online portal’s research articles.

“With articles in the supplement highlighting a range of topics from Agriculture, Biodiversity, and the Environment to Cardiology, Physiology and Alternative Medicine, the topics cover a wide range of articles available online on QScience.com,” explains Dr. Alwaleed AlKhaja, Senior Editor at HBKU Press. “The impact of this collaboration is that it makes research more accessible to a local and global audience and it has the ability to reach a larger, more varied audience as well. The sheer diversity of the articles highlighted in the Nature supplement is reflective of the wide variety of diverse topics covered in the journals available on QScience.com.”

This supplement is a special collaborative issue between Hamad bin Khalifa University Press and Nature Research.
