Research at QBRI

The Neurological Disorders Research Center (NDRC) at QBRI focuses on research in neurological disorders of high prevalence in Qatar and pan-Arabic region

The Diabetes Research Center (DRC) at QBRI, is working for the improved prevention, reversal, and treatment of diabetes and related complications and comorbidities, contributing to the Qatar national diabetes research, strategy, and health priorities research programs.

The Translational Oncology Research Center aims to achieve a better understanding of the cellular and molecular bases of cancer initiation and progression with a focus on breast cancer, which is the most common type of cancer among females globally.

QBRI’s core facilities are positioned as modern, efficient, reliable, and tightly networked shared resource laboratories that guarantee optimal support and scientific progression on several levels.

Testimonials

I am enthusiastic about the work we do at QBRI, which focuses on understanding neurological disorders at a fundamental level. By understanding the molecular and cellular details of conditions such as autism, we are building capacity within Qatar to improve diagnosis and develop therapies. It is an honor and privilege to be part of a multidisciplinary research team that is making an impact on patients’ lives.

Dr. Lawrence Stanton

Director, Neurological Disorders Research Center

QBRI stands as a biomedical research institute dedicated to addressing pressing health challenges in the region. Recognizing the underrepresentation of Arab populations in research, our mission extends beyond borders. We aspire to elevate QBRI into a global nexus for biomedical and translational research, fostering extensive collaborations worldwide. I take pride in our endeavors, propelling us towards enhancing healthcare in Qatar and beyond.
