Leaders need a variety of skills to lead non-profit and for-profit ventures.  Their funders and investors want assurance that the organization will be well supervised so that risks will be mitigated, problems will be solved, and goals met. As the leadership team, what must you do to meet funder expectations?

Over two sessions we will use lectures, class discussion, and cases to show students how to successfully govern NGOs and major business enterprises. We will show you how to create robust and professional corporate governance systems that can achieve funder expectations while assuring investors that their funds are in good hands. At the end of this day students should:

  • Understand the systems of governance their investors will require, and why
  • Be prepared for the challenges of managing powerful funders
  • Know what good governance looks like, and how to implement it in their own organization
