Can the Middle East find peace and cooperation? For decades, conflict fueled by deep historical and cultural tensions has defined the region. In this lecture, Dr. Nader Habib, Henry J. Leir Professor of the Economics of the Middle East at Brandeis University, explores whether the Arab, Turkish, and Iranian civilizations can forge a new path toward regional cooperation.
Drawing lessons from Europe, South Asia, and South America, he examines the first steps toward regional cooperation and recommends practical strategies for creating regionalist advocacy groups that can spearhead a transformative movement.
This lecture will be held in English.
