College of Humanities and Social Sciences

In this lecture, Dr. Sultan Al-Khulaifi will present his paper examining Qatar’s role in peace mediation for Palestine between 1995-2013.

The paper aims to understand the drivers and strategies behind Qatar’s proactive involvement in the Palestinian cause between 1995 and 2013 through the lenses of state identity and regional and international status.

This topic contributes to the emerging literature on Qatari foreign policy by offering novel insights into the motivations behind Qatar’s diplomatic initiatives and evolving role in Middle Eastern politics. It also addresses a gap in understanding Arab states’ engagement with the Palestinian cause.
