The unfolding of the COVID-19 pandemic has been accompanied by a parallel tsunami of data and information related to the disease, its spread and global impact. Phrases and words like “social distancing”, “asymptomatic vs. symptomatic”, “pool testing”, “flattening of the curve”, “drug repurposing” and “lockdowns” have become part of our daily lexicon. The speed at which the pandemic has spread and the conflicting information has left governments, experts and policy-makers flat-footed and yearning for credible information and prescriptions grounded in science.
In a series of lectures, scientists from QCAI-QCRI will introduce a combination of basic and advanced set of techniques and tools from data science and artificial intelligence relevant to the analysis of the pandemic. The lectures are aimed at policy experts, domain specialists and the general public to “make sense” as they witness what might be the most far reaching event in human history.
All lectures will be held online.
Links to each lecture will be provided to all registrants separately.
