The 3-day high-level workshop for Qatari women aspiring for/in leadership positions and women candidates expected to run for Shura Council elections will be organized as a partnership between the Delegation of the European Union to the State of Kuwait and the State of Qatar and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Hamad Bin Khalifa University.
Trainers will include senior EU politicians, media experts, campaigners and high-profile political figures from Qatar, GCC region and the Middle East. A certificate of completion will be awarded to all participants.
Workshop Modules
The workshop will aim to advance understanding of the core elements of a successful electoral campaign, strengthen public skills. The training sessions would therefore focus on the following learning areas:
- Understanding the Qatari Constitution and national legislation on political campaigning;
- Running an effective campaign – message development; target groups, campaign plan;
- Engaging with the media, including media training and interview techniques;
- Leveraging social media to connect, convince and mobilize voters;
- Mastering public speaking – the do’s & don’ts;
- Sharing experiences across Europe and Middle East.
Timing and Format
The workshop will be held virtually over three consecutive days 13-14-15 June 2021. The sessions will run from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm Doha time.
Some sessions will be conducted in English, and some in Arabic. Remote interpreting will be provided throughout the training.
