HBKU President Dr. Ahmad M. Hasnah and IUA President Professor Hatem Othman Mohammed Kheir commemorate the signing of the research collaboration agreement.

The College of Islamic Studies (CIS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the International University of Africa (IUA) to collaborate on research in the fields of humanitarianism, conflict resolution, and related areas.

Under the MOU, CIS and IUA agree to explore opportunities for joint research activities, publications, library exchanges, lectures, and talks, as well as invitations to scholars from both institutions to participate in seminars, conferences and workshops.

The agreement also established a framework for sharing academic literature in the chosen research fields as well as exchanging faculty members and students for study, teaching, and research.

“This agreement strengthens both institutions’ expertise in critical research areas while offering opportunities for faculty and students to exchange knowledge across our universities. In line with HBKU’s innate dedication to dialogue, CIS overcomes borders to facilitate expertise and build capacity in Qatar and beyond,” said Dr. Recep Şentürk, Dean, HBKU’s CIS.

CIS is a result of a visionary approach to Islamic studies and the thought leadership that defines its contributions on the national, regional, and global scales.
