Indigeneity in Policy: Arts, Emotions, and Culture | Hamad Bin Khalifa University
College of Public Policy

In Collaboration With Policy Lab, UK

Conventional perspectives on public policy view emotions as a negative influence on policy processes. This workshop shows another, deeper dimension to the role of emotions.

We introduce a lens through which emotions are not seen as negative elements, but as constitutive practices that are fundamental in shaping our comprehension of policies and the processes related to them from the onset. Emotions are integral to policy formation, not only as content to be addressed and regulated, but affecting communication, perception, and even compliance.

The workshop focused on three key themes:

  • Manifestation of Policy Information
  • Navigating Evidence, Values, and Priorities
  • Innovative Role of Arts in Policy
