The field of social sciences in the Arab region is currently facing a crisis, with significant ordeals that follow.
Instead of alleviating social problems, Arab social science practices have become a source of fomenting problems themselves, having failed to live up to their potential, with a societal impact that does not justify their financial costs.
Moreover, despite their relatively long history, social sciences in the Arab region continue to grapple with numerous challenges, stemming from both internal and external sources.
This presentation aims to first assess the state of social sciences in the Arab region, shed light on the challenges they face, investigate the underlying reasons behind these challenges, and identify recurring patterns of dysfunctionality.
