Wednesday October 11th, 2017 marked the start of the Frankfurter Buchmesse (the Frankfurt International Book Fair) 2017 where Hamad bin Khalifa University Press (HBKU Press) has a booth representing the publishing house at the international exhibition that hosts hundreds of other publishing companies and media outlets from around the world.
HBKU Press’s booth, located in Hall 5.1, stand A143, represents over eight years of the publishing house’s catalog of acclaimed works and innovative publications. Over 100 titles are showcased, with a special focus on the ingenuity local Qatari and Arab talent. The rights to publish each work in different languages are being sold to interested publishers around the world.
“HBKU Press’s participation in such a prestigious and culturally relevant book fair validates the publishing house’s integral role in the cultural exchange of information,” explains Rima Ismail, HBKU Press’s Outreach and Special Projects Manager. “We are here representing local Qatari and Arab talents and helping to facilitate the dissemination of local talent and local narratives to different regions across the globe.”
