Public Lecture: Religion and the State in Muslim America

14Jan2018

About the Event

Hamad Bin Khalifa University's College of Islamic Studies hosts a public lecture on "Religion and the State in Muslim America".

Since the end of the cold war, Islam has played an increasingly prominent role in how the relation between the state and religion is negotiated in US politics.

This lecture places contemporary polemics around Islam within the larger historical context of the politics of religion in the U.S.

Dr. Kambiz Ghanea Bassiri: Professor of Religion and Humanities, Reed College.

The lecture will be delivered in English.
