Khayr al-Din al-Tunisi’s most notable reformist ideas can be accessed through his famous book, ‘Aqwam al-Masālik fī Ma’rifat Aḥwāl al-Mamālik’, and his memoirs.
He paid considerable attention to applying the principles of Islam during his time.
The lecture will critically and analytically explore al-Tunisi’s reformist theories and the importance he places on education, justice, freedom, and consultation in the society.
