The Center seeks to achieve its objectives through the following activities:
CIS established a major international academic prize in honor of Sheikh Yusuf Al Qaradawi. The prize recognizes Sheikh Al Qaradawi’s leading role in advocating for Islamic moderation and renewal, addressing contemporary issues through the application of jurisprudence balanced by the objectives of sharia and the essence of religion.
The Qaradawi Prize is awarded each year to one senior scholar and one young scholar for their contributions to the field of Islamic Studies and their role in enriching Islamic culture.
The prize aims to support scholarship that renews Islam through moderate thought and careful application of Islamic principles to modern society. Open to an international audience, the prize contributes to the convergence of world religious and cultural entities, deepening understanding of a common humanity through interfaith dialogue and cooperation.
