The College of Public Policy (CPP) reflects the university’s policy on supporting and contributing to effective policy development that enhances public value nationally, regionally, and globally. The college offers a dynamic research environment exploring policy challenges across a range of areas, including social, environmental, and developmental policy, public administration, higher education, food security, conflict and humanitarian response, and governance.

Position

The College of Public Policy (CPP) invites applications for an Assistant Professor position with a specific focus on global public health policy to begin in the Spring semester of the 2024-25 academic year. The college is particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate the ability to combine global perspectives with national and regional concerns.

Job Description

  • Teach and supervise students in the Master of Social Policy and Program Evaluation (MSPPE) program, with a focus on health and social policy.
  • Candidate should have a proven research track record in the intersection of comparative public policy and health policy, global health governance, international organizations, and national government policies addressing public health challenges.
  • Candidate should have strong methodological skills that they can incorporate into their teaching and research.
  • Evidence of administrative skills and collegial research collaborations is required.
  • Familiarity with the country and region is an asset.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Applicants must have a Ph.D. in public health, health policy, global health, public policy, social policy, or a closely related field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant full-time university experience in research, higher education, or closely related areas in industry, with evidence of increasing professional maturity and productivity.
  • Research and scholarly achievements are judged competent and adequate for the relevant rank in comparison with peers active in the same field at a major research university.
  • Significant national, regional, and international reputation in scholarly endeavors (funded research grants, publications, etc.) in comparison with peers active in the same field at a major research university.
  • Ability to work with and lead diverse groups, cultures, and communities.
  • Evidence of significant national, regional, and international networks and collaborations in both teaching and research activities.
  • English language proficiency is required.
  • Teaching evaluation record.

Additional Requirements/Skills

  • International experience will be given preference.
  • An ability to contribute to curriculum development and innovation.
  • Demonstrated collegiate and collaborative workplace skills.
