The Ins and Outs of Translation Theories | HBKU
College of Humanities and Social Sciences

Join our upcoming webinar that will discuss translation as a linguistic activity performed by several social agents serving different roles, thus contributing to the final shape of translation.
The translation process is not a pure linguistic activity, but rather it includes several acts that are cultural, interpretive, hermeneutic, normative, social, ideological, and the like. Having all those dimensions has expanded the circle of translation studies to be studied from different perspectives.

In this webinar, the speakers will discuss some of the common translation theories and approaches from a range of perspectives highlighting the future of translation.

Discussions will be held in Arabic.
