In this seminar, the Diabetes Research Center’s team will share the latest advances in understanding cardio-metabolic health. Our speakers will delve into topics such as the relationship between salivary alpha-amylase activity and cardio-metabolic risk factors, cardiovascular and low-grade inflammation markers in a high-risk cohort of overweight/obese Qatari individuals; plasma proteomics analysis of metabolically healthy obesity and metabolically unhealthy normal-weight in Qatar, as well as non-coding RNAs as disease biomarkers and therapeutic targets in an in vitro model of steatosis treated with Exendin-4.
