Jabir Ibn Hayyan was a Muslim polymath, who left behind works covering a variety of subjects such as chemistry, medical sciences, astronomy, astrology, geography, alchemy, philosophy and pharmacy. Known as ‘the Father of Chemistry’ with almost 3,000 treatises ascribed to him, Ibn Hayyan’s contribution is often compared to that of Boyle and Lavoisier in the field of chemistry.
