Certificate Program: Fundamentals of Cybersecurity

Program Overview:

Texas A&M University at Qatar and the Executive Education Center at Hamad Bin Khalifa University are pleased to announce the launch of the Fundamentals of Cybersecurity certificate program.

The program will cover topics related to the fundamental concepts behind modern cryptographic systems and how they can be employed to secure data and private communications. It will also introduce attendees to the collection and analysis of open-source and publicly available information, white hacking techniques for stealth collection, methodologies for the evaluation and validation of sources of open and publicly available information, as well as OSINT best practices.

In addition, this program will demonstrate how to conduct penetration testing and forensic investigations, allowing users and administrators to configure computers to stop cyber-attacks, or at least minimize their negative impact. It will also cover the basics of wireless networks and show principal attacks on a wireless network involving the three components of the confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility (CIA) triads. The understanding of this material will allow the user or administrator to build countermeasures to protect the wireless network. 

Participants will receive a certificate in Fundamentals of Cybersecurity after the completion of all four modules, and a Certificate of Completion will also be presented to attendees at the end of each individual module.
