Department of Language, Culture and Communication

The Department of Language, Culture and Communication (LCC) leads an ambitious strategy for graduate education in the region, delivering a unique set of programs to train leading professionals working between Arabic and English in all areas of translation. Combining academic rigor with the development of the vocational skills demanded by industry and institutional employers, TII’s suite of graduate programs, offered by LCC, are validated by the University of Geneva and provide graduates with a competitive edge in the freelance, corporate, and institutional marketplaces.

The LCC also strives to develop and maintain a vibrant research culture for faculty and students, as well as other scholars from the region and beyond. This is pursued through a range of different initiatives, including seminars, numerous public events, and several interdisciplinary research projects guided by full-time faculty, all of which complement our academic offer.

The department offers the following MA programs:

  1. Master of Arts in Translation Studies (MATS)
  2. Master of Arts in Audiovisual Translation (MAAT)
  3. Master of Arts in Intercultural Communication (MAICC)
