MUHAMMAD BIN HAMAD AL THANI CENTER FOR MUSLIM CONTRIBUTION TO CIVILIZATION ANNOUNCES A RESEARCH COMPETITION ENTITLED:

GUIDANCE OF THE MESSENGER (PBUH) ON THE RELATIONSHIPS AMONG NATIONS

 

  1. Participation in the contest starts as of December 1st, 2016.
  2. The last date for submission of papers shall be May 15th, 2017.
  3. Names of the winners will be announced on June 15th, 2017.
  4. There will be separate yet equal awards for papers written in both English and Arabic.
  5. Awards shall be as follows:

    a) First prize – US$10,000
    b) Second prize – US$7,000
    c) Third prize – US$5,000

  6.Additional incentive awards of US$2,000 will be awarded to participants selected by a Jury Committee.

 

TERMS OF PARTICIPATION IN THE COMPETITION:

  1. Participants should be undergraduate university students.
  2. Participants must submit the registration forms duly filled out along with a recent photograph and a copy of their valid passport or identity card.
  3. The research must be an original work, which has not previously been published and has not been submitted to any other party or other research contest.
  4. The researcher must adhere to the norms of academic writing and observe honesty in research.
  5. The research paper must be written using grammatically correct language with well-structured sentences.
  6. The essay should not exceed 11,000 words nor should it be less than 10,000 words.
  7. The following guides should be followed in writing the papers:

    a) Font type: Times New Roman
    b) Font size: 12pt for the text and 10pt for the footnotes
    c) Space between lines: 1.5
    d) Page numbers: Bottom of the page
    e) Footnotes: At the bottom of the page
    f) References and sources: At the end of the research

  8. Submitted research papers will be reviewed and judged by an academic committee.
  9. The decision of the committee shall be final.
  10. The research submitted for competition will become the academic property of the Center for Muslim Contribution to Civilization and will not be returned to the participants.
  11. No entry will be considered if it is received after the deadline on May 15th, 2017.
