Biography

Dr. Mohamed Abdallah received his BSc degree from Cairo University in 1996. He received his MSc and Ph. degrees from the University of Maryland at College Park in 2001 and 2006, respectively. From 2006 to 2016, he held academic and research positions at Cairo University and Texas A&M University at Qatar. Currently, he is a founding faculty member with the rank of Associate Professor in the Information and Computing Technology Division of College of Science and Engineering at Hamad Bin Khalifa University. 

Dr. Abdallah is the recipient of the Research Fellow Excellence Award at Texas A&M University at Qatar in 2016, the best paper award in the IEEE BlackSeaCom in 2019 and IEEE First Workshop on Smart Grid and Renewable Energy in 2015, and the Nortel Networks Industrial Fellowship for five consecutive years, 1999-2003. He has acquired $7M in research funding and published more than 140 papers in mostly IEEE journals and conferences. 

Dr. Abdallah’s professional activities include being an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Communications and IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, track co-chair at the 90th IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2019-Fall), a technical program chair of the 10th International Conference on Cognitive Radio Oriented Wireless Networks, and a technical program committee member of several major IEEE conferences. He is a senior member of the IEEE.
