The HBKU Library allocates study carrels with desktops for HBKU PhD students to reserve in order to help them focus on their coursework and dissertations. The carrels are available at the main library in Minaretein.
Students must abide by the following guidelines:
- The student has the right to reserve the carrel for a period starting from one month and up to a maximum of one academic semester.
- The student must use their dedicated computer for study and research purposes only, respecting the library and HBKU IT policies, and instructions governing the use of computers.
- The student must follow the HBKU IT terms and conditions while accessing the network.
- The reservation of the carrel will be cancelled if it has not been used for more than 30 continuous days.
- The student is encouraged to save the files on the Drive and not on the PC.
- As speakers are not allowed, the student is advised to use earphones/headphones.
- The student must be aware that:
- The PC could undergo updates without prior notice.
- Upon logging off, the files will be deleted.
- The library is not responsible for any deleted/lost information on the designated computer.
