استضافت كلية القانون بجامعة حمد بن خليفة، بالتعاون مع كلية القانون في جامعة إسكس، مؤتمرًا دوليًا لاستكشاف التحديات والفرص في مجال رقمنة عمليات تمويل التجارة العالمية؛ وذلك بهدف إبراز البحوث التي تجريها الكلية وخبرات أعضاء هيئة التدريس فيها على الصعيد العالمي.

Raising the global visibility of its research and faculty expertise, the College of Law at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), in collaboration with the University of Essex, School of Law, hosted an international conference to explore the challenges and opportunities in digitalizing trade finance processes.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) hosted the finals of the Three Minute Thesis (3MT^®) competition, a dynamic showcase of the innovative research being done by its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students, on March 21. 

This year, students from the College of Health and Life Sciences (CHLS) won first and second place, and a student from the College of Science and Engineering (CSE) won third place, for succinctly communicating the impact of their research and its outcomes in just three minutes.

تبادل طلاب وشباب من أكثر من عدة دول وخلفيات عرقية متنوعة وجهات النظر حول مستقبل مكافحة الإرهاب في اللقاء العالمي للشباب الذي نظمه مكتب الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة الإرهاب، من خلال المركز الدولي للرؤى السلوكية لمكافحة الإرهاب، بتاريخ 29 مارس.

واستضافت جامعة حمد بن خليفة هذه الفعالية الهجينة التي عُقدت بعنوان: "معًا نبني مستقبلاً بلا إرهاب" في حرمها الجامعي بالمدينة التعليمية، مع حضور العديد من المشاركين للفعالية عبر الإنترنت من دول مختلفة حول العالم. 

Students and youth from numerous countries and a diverse ethnic background  exchanged views on the future of counter-terrorism at a Global Youth Town Hall organized by the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), through its International Hub on Behavioral Insights to Counter Terrorism, on March 29. 

Experts from Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU)’s College of Law and College of Public Policy (CPP) convened a roundtable on March 15 to examine the international legal and policy implications of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. 

استضافت كلية الدراسات الإسلامية بجامعة حمد بن خليفة، أمس، محاضرةً بعنوان "الأمل في أوقات اليأس" ألقاها العالم الإسلامي الأمريكي البارز الدكتور عمر سليمان. 

واستقطبت الفعالية، التي عُقدت في قاعة المحاضرات بالكلية وجامع المدينة التعليمية، حوالي 600 شخص، بالإضافة إلى عدد من أفراد المجتمع، والأكاديميين والطلاب. وقدَّم الدكتور سليمان خلال محاضرته دروسًا في الأمل يمكن أن تساعد في مواجهة المشاكل الفردية والجماعية قبيل حلول شهر رمضان المبارك. 

The College of Islamic Studies (CIS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) hosted a pre-Ramadan guest lecture “Hope in Time of Despair” by prominent American Muslim scholar Dr. Omar Suleiman on March 27.

Held at the Auditorium and Education City Mosque, the event drew close to 600 attendees, as well as members of the public, academics, and students. In his talk, Dr. Suleiman examined lessons of hope for confronting individual and collective struggles ahead of the Holy Month of Ramadan. 

ويُعتبر ابن تيمية، الفقيه المحدث الحنبلي الشهير الذي عاش في دمشق والمتوفى في عام 728 هجريًا/ 1328 ميلاديًا، على نطاق واسع أحد أكثر الفقهاء المسلمين دراسةً وشهرةً في العصور الوسطى. وطرح الدكتور مهدي برياح، الأستاذ المساعد في اللغة العربية الفصحى والدراسات الإسلامية بكلية الدين واللاهوت في جامعة فريجي بأمستردام، خلال محاضرته أجزاءً من دراسة نُشرت مؤخرًا تحلل جوانب من كتابات ابن تيمية الذي تميز بغزارة إنتاجه. وتتناول أعمال هذا الفقيه المحدِث مجموعة واسعة من الموضوعات وتبرهن على دراساته الواسعة القائمة على المعرفة العميقة بمصادره.

Ibn Taymiyya (d. 728/1328), the famous Ḥanbalī theologian of Damascus, is widely regarded as one of the most studied and cited medieval Muslim theologians. The talk by Dr. Mehdi Berriah, Assistant Professor of Classical Arabic and Islamic Studies, Faculty of Religion and Theology of the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, presented parts of a recently published study analyzing aspects of Ibn Taymiyya’s prolific writings.
