College of Health and Life Sciences a Partner in HMC’s Person-Centered Care Forum 2021
Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU)’s College of Health and Life Sciences (CHLS) was a partner in Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC)’s Person-Centered Care (PCC) Virtual Forum 2021 from October 15-16. The PCC Forum brought together international and local speakers with knowledge and expertise in person-centered care and improvement. HBKU was invited to partner with HMC as part of its efforts to ensure a high quality educational opportunity for all participants. Under the theme ‘Compassion in Action: Spread Kindness’, the forum’s focus was on building capability and encouraging knowledge sharing and transfer to improve the patient experience in healthcare. PCC aimed to generate momentum to build on existing practices and develop new ways to continue delivering person-centered care during the global pandemic. Around 3,000 frontline staff, clinicians, and experts from around the globe, including doctors, nurses, allied healthcare workers from a diverse set of disciplines, as well as healthcare administrators attended a mix of lectures, workshops, panel discussions, and patient case studies. The program provided professional development opportunities for a diverse set of disciplines while speakers delivered various sessions and shared best practices, lessons learned and new methodologies in delivering a person-centered care approach to healthcare.
