CPP Dean Joins International Public Policy Association Leadership on Dubai Site Visit
Dr. Leslie A. Pal, founding dean at the College of Public Policy (CPP), was part of a site visit team in Dubai recently to review the bid submitted by the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) to hold the sixth International Conference on Public Policy (ICPP) in 2023. Dr. Pal serves as the vice-president of the International Public Policy Association (IPPA), the sponsor of ICPP, and joined Dr. Grace Skogstad, president, IPPA, Dr. Marleen Brans, treasurer, and Dr. Philippe Zittoun, secretary-general, to review the proposed venues for the conference, as well as other arrangements. The Rashid School is one of three short-listed bids for the ICPP conference.
While visiting Dubai, Dr. Pal also gave a lecture to MBRSG students on his latest book, The Future of the Policy Sciences (co-edited with Dr. Anis B. Brik, associate professor at CPP). The lecture discussed the implications of the pandemic and post-pandemic on existing tensions in theory and practice of policy design and implementation.
