Event provided platform for university’s alumni community and current students to network and share success stories
In light of the University having marked its anniversary last year, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) invited its alumni community to the inaugural HBKU Alumni Reunion, launching a platform for the university’s graduates to network and celebrate their accomplishments together.
For the first time since its inception, HBKU welcomed the alumni community back to their alma mater in an official setting and congratulated them on their collective achievements.
Designated Alumni Ambassadors from the College of Islamic Studies, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Science and Engineering, College of Law, College of Health and Life Sciences, and College of Public Policy then took to the stage to share their personal stories since graduating from HBKU.
Dr. Michael J. Benedik, Provost, HBKU, said: “We were delighted to welcome members of our growing alumni community back to HBKU. Their achievements reflect our determination to empower students to become future leaders and entrepreneurs focused on finding novel solutions for national and global challenges.”
“Seeing how our alumni community have taken their education from our world-class graduate-level programs to propel their personal and professional development forward is a remarkable achievement for our entire university.
The HBKU Alumni Reunion is the ideal platform to provide them opportunities to connect with one another and nurture multidisciplinary collaborations while also serving as a bridge between our alumni and current students,” said Dr. Maryam Hamad Al Mannai, Vice President of Student Affairs, HBKU.
Through its Office of Student Affairs, HBKU builds bridges between members of its community, including both current students and alumni, and cultivates a culture of support in which diversity is valued and embraced. It is part of the university’s educational mandate to create and promote opportunities for its alumni community, which is composed of over 1,500 members.
