College of Science and Engineering Faculty Member Participates in Kuwait Digital Health Conference
An associate professor at Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) College of Science and Engineering (CSE) recently participated in the Kuwait Digital Health Conference – an annual meet-up that seeks to raise awareness on the role of health informatics and address the trials and rewards of digital health solutions. The conference saw Dr. Mowafa Househ speak on the topics of Engaging and Empowering Patients: Now it is Personal and Enhancing Patient Safety through Informatics. Joining him at the conference were Dr. Luis Luque and Dr. Faisel Farooq from HBKU’s Qatar Computing Research Institute. As part of his Kuwait visit, Dr. Mowafa delivered a talk on trends and opportunities within the digital health field, sponsored by the Kuwait Health Informatics Association. His visit concluded with a discussion on ways of achieving academic success at Kuwait University.
In 2018 and 2019, CSE launched its Master of Data Analytics in Health Management and Master of Information Systems in Health Management programs, both designed to lead cutting-edge research and interdisciplinary studies in the growing field of health informatics.
