HBKU Invites Prospective Students to a Series of Information Sessions

Scheduled later this month, the sessions will provide interested applicants with a unique opportunity to learn more about the array of innovative graduate programs HBKU offers.

Information sessions will offer detailed insight into HBKU’s graduate programs with a focus on curriculum, unique research opportunities, and admission requirements. Attendees will also have the chance to meet the deans, faculty, admissions staff, and current students to learn more about the benefits of enrollment.

The first round of information sessions will occur on March 19. CHSS will share information at the Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) Building about its MA programs in translation studies; audiovisual translation; women, society and development; and digital humanities and societies. The college’s two translation programs are delivered by the Translation and Interpreting Institute and internationally validated by the University of Geneva. Through its multidisciplinary programs, CHSS aspires to nurture a diverse body of academically grounded and socially responsible citizens who are ready to tackle today’s pressing challenges.

On March 21, HBKU’s College of Science and Engineering’s (CSE) information session will be held at the Education City Student Center. The session will discuss CSE’s MS degree programs in cybersecurity; sustainable energy; biological and biomedical sciences, and genomics and precision medicine – amongst a full list of 13 PhD and master’s programs in science and engineering-related fields. CSE is home to three divisions that include Life Sciences, Sustainable Development, and Information and Computing Technology. The college’s faculty members are internationally recognized and pursue research in high-impact areas for Qatar, the region, and the world.

On March 25, the College of Islamic Studies’ representatives will introduce prospective students to CIS’ MA in Islamic studies and MS in Islamic finance, the latter being one of an extremely limited number of top-tier specialized programs available worldwide.

Finally, the College of Law and Public Policy’s (CLPP) information session will be held at the Four Seasons Hotel on March 29. In the session, college representatives will shed light on the region’s first Juris Doctor degree created in partnership with the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. The college’s JD program is the first and only of its kind in the MENA region, and it seeks to graduate students who are highly equipped with legal knowledge that enables them to make the most of career options in the public sector, private industry, and academia.

HBKU attracts and cultivates students who are capable and adept to the needs of Qatar and the region. The upcoming information sessions are an ideal chance for prospective students to learn about the University’s programs and achieve an understanding of HBKU’s unique opportunities and exceptional faculty. Potential applicants are welcome to visit and find out more about HBKU’s degrees, research, and all they need to know to make informed decisions about their education.
