Letter from HBKU to new Students

Dear Incoming Students,

I hope you are enjoying your well-deserved summer break.

As you are aware, there have been a number of recent regional developments, so I wanted to share some updates with you.

Although there are some disruptions to travel in and out of Qatar, the Qatari government has confirmed that appropriate measures are firmly in place to address unforeseen situations like these, and to ensure minimum interruption and the continued sustainability of the nation. We are monitoring the situation closely, and will provide further updates once they become available.

I would like to reaffirm that Hamad Bin Khalifa University, a member of Qatar Foundation, is fully committed to safeguarding the welfare and wellbeing of every single student from around the world while ensuring no interruption to their education. In addition, our campus remains open and active with summer and Ramadan events and initiatives, and all our programs will continue as usual.

I want to reassure you that you are a highlyvalued member of our academic community, and we are looking forward to welcoming you in Education City as a student of HBKU, during orientation in August 2017. The state of Qatar has made no changes to the national immigration policy as a result of the situation and all student visas will proceed as per the usual immigration process. Best Regards,
Dr. Ahmad M. Hasnah
