HBKU Press author, Maryam Al-Mansoori, supports Education Above

In a landmark occasion, Maryam Al-Mansoori, the author of The 4ourth Floor: Career Counsel for Navigating the Corporate Maze by Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press (HBKU Press), signed an agreement yesterday with Educate A Child (EAC), a programme of the Education Above All Foundation, to whom the proceeds from the sale of her book will be donated for an entire year.

HBKU Press author, Maryam Al-Mansoori,

Educate A Child is a global initiative launched by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, which aims to significantly reduce the number of children worldwide who are denied their right to education. It believes strongly that all children must have every opportunity to survive and thrive in education. Ultimately, EAC is a commitment to provide children who are out of school with opportunities to learn. It contributes to the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 4: to ensure inclusive and quality education for all and to promote lifelong learning.

Al-Mansoori joins a long list of high-profile supporters of this worthy initiative to help marginalised children across the globe realise their right to an education by eliminating the obstacles they face.

“The 4ourth Floor strives to educate and increase awareness for all those involved with institutions and in their professional career growth,” explains Al-Mansoori. “Empowered by the belief in the importance of supporting education and its noble goals, and in the understanding of the crucial role that education plays in the development of nations and as a means to combat illiteracy and poverty, I decided to dedicate the proceeds of The 4ourth Floor to Educate A Child, an organisation established by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser to defend children’s rights to education all over the world.”

The 4ourth Floor, which is available in English and Arabic, aims to help readers critically consider their careers and evaluate how the choices they make today define their future. It targets anyone who has ever questioned their career path or wondered how to distinguish themselves from other employees by encouraging readers to actively participate in shaping their career based on their personal goals, instead of blindly following the path set before them. It provides practical tips on how to deal with a variety of workplace situations and each chapter addresses a problem head on.

Al-Mansoori provides pearls of wisdom based on the personal experiences she has amassed during her years as a management consultant in several senior positions in major companies across varying industries. The book is well-structured and articulated in a manner that readers from all walks of life can relate to and benefit.
