HBKU’s Qatar Computing Research Institute Scientist Named IEEE Fellow

A chief scientist at Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), has been named an IEEE Fellow. Dr. Mohamed Mokbel received the prestigious title as recognition for his contributions to building spatially- and privacy-aware systems. The IEEE is the world’s leading professional association for advancing technology for humanity, and is a leading authority on a range of areas from aerospace systems, computers, telecommunications to biomedical engineering, electric power and consumer electronics. In 2017, Mokbel was named Distinguished Scientist by the Association for Computing Machinery, the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society.
