Qatar Computing Research Institute Participates in TechWadi in the United States
Institute highlights promising and relevant technologies in the MENA region
Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), participated in a startup event hosted by Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP) in collaboration with TechWadi, on June 20 in the city of San Francisco, United States. The event aimed to bridge the gap between Silicon Valley and the MENA region by exposing technology professionals and startups to the burgeoning Research, Development, and Innovation (RDI) ecosystem in Qatar, and encouraging them to take advantage of attractive funding opportunities for technology startups with ties to the region. During the event, QCRI showcased its research outcomes that would be used to develop Qatar-based startups in the future. TechWadi is working with leading regional and international organizations, including QSTP, to empower high impact entrepreneurs and help build a sustainable infrastructure for innovation and entrepreneurship to thrive and succeed. QCRI strives to become a global leader in computing research in areas that will make a positive impact in Qatar.
