CPP Dean Visits Chiang Mai University with the IPPA

Dr. Leslie Pal, Founding Dean of the College Public Policy, was part of a site visit to Chiang Mai University, Thailand, on December 14-18. The visit was conducted by the International Public Policy Association (IPPA) as part of an official bid by the School of Public Policy at Chiang Mai University to hold the International Conference on Public Policy in 2023.

Dr. Pal, IPPA Vice-President, was joined by Professor M. Ramesh of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore, and Dr. Philippe Zittoun, University of Lyon and IPPA General Secretary. In addition to meeting university officials and inspecting venues, the three members of the team conducted an international seminar in a hybrid format on “Reframing Policy Formulation.” Dr. Pal had the opportunity to speak about his recently published book (co-edited with Dr. Anis Ben Brik), “The Future of the Policy Sciences”. The book critically assesses the limits of current theories and approaches, and leading scholars in the field highlight new models and perspectives.
