Biography
Dr. Zamri Che Wanik received his BSc from the University of Evansville, U.S.A., his MEngSc from Curtin University of Technology, Australia and his Doctor der Ingenieurwissenschaften from Universität Duisburg-Essen, Germany in 1997, 2002 and 2011 respectively all in electrical engineering focusing on electrical power systems. His first position was engineer at Sony Technology Malaysia between 1997 to 2000. From 2000 to 2016 he was an academic staff member at Malaysian National University, his last position there was as a senior lecturer in power systems. He is acknowleged as an expert in renewable energy integration for power systems. He was with TNB Research, a research arm of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), the main and largest electric utility company in Malaysia on a part-time basis between May 2011 to April 2012 and on a full-time basis between September 2012 to August 2014 as principle researcher. From January 2016 he started his career as a power systems scientist at QEERI, a member of Qatar Foundation. He has led a number of R&D, consultancy and pilot projects in this area. He also gives talks, seminars and workshops to academia and industry on topics related to his expertise.
