Biography

Dr. Rashad Al-Gaashani obtained his PhD degree in Materials Science from the School of Applied Physics, Faculty of Science and Technology, UKM, Malaysia in 2012. He joined the Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI) in 2016 as a post doc. He is currently working in its water security department as a postdoctoral researcher. His research interests are focused on thin-film devices, the design and test of microwave heaters, synthesis, and characterization of metal oxide nanostructures, quantum dots, and nanocomposites. He has also worked on carbon nanotubes, graphene oxide, and activated carbon composite materials for wastewater treatment and antimicrobial agents. Dr. Al-Gaashani has published 20 peer-reviewed international journal papers and more than eight conference proceedings, which were cited by 979 papers. His h-index is 10 (Google Scholar Citations). He has reviewed many manuscripts submitted for publication in various international journals.

 


Research Interests

Rashad Al-Gaashani's research interests focus on synthesis and characterization of metal oxide nanostructures, quantum dots, nanocomposites, carbon nanotubes, and thin film devices. At the present time, his research is focused on synthesis inorganic transport nanomaterials for Perovskite based solar cells.
