Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development (QF), was founded in 2010 to continue fulfilling QF’s vision of unlocking human potential. HBKU is an emerging research University that acts as a catalyst for transformative change in Qatar and the region while having global impact.
The aim of Life Science programs at HBKU is to aspire innovation and promote excellence in research and education with major emphasis on interdisciplinary research and scholarship. HBKU Life Science offers two graduate programs, the Biological and Biomedical Sciences program which was established in August 2015, and the Genomic and Precision Medicine (GPM) program which will be launched in August 2017.
Positions
We aim to recruit outstanding faculty at the HBKU Life Sciences Division at at all levels (Assistant, Associate, and full Professor) in the areas of Genomics and Precision Medicine. Our goal is to attract world-class scholars and rising stars to help establish HBKU as a leader in the GPM field in Qatar and beyond that is known for its academic excellence. Successful candidates must have earned a PhD degree from an accredited university, have a track record for internationally recognized research, and a strong commitment to graduate teaching and program development.
The specialist areas of interest are: Genomics and Genetic-based Diseases, Pharmacogentics, Epigenetics, Bioinformatics, OMICS- related Fields, Bioethics (with a focus on healthcare-related questions), Immunology, and Cell Biology.
