تستضيف كلية الدراسات الإسلامية بجامعة حمد بن خليفة مؤتمر أسئلة النهضة الدولي، في الذكرى السبعين لصدور كتاب ’شروط النهضة’، الذي ألَّفه المفكر الجزائري الراحل، مالك بن نبي، حيث أثرت مساهماته على الفكر الإسلامي بنواحيه المختلفة، ولا تزال حاليًا مصدر اهتمام واحتفاء في كافة أرجاء العالم العربي.

The College of Islamic Studies (CIS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) will host a Renaissance Questions international conference to mark the 70th anniversary of 'The Conditions of the Renaissance,' written by the late Algerian scholar, Malek Bennabi. The scholar’s contributions to Islamic thought have gone on to inform studies in many spheres of Islam, and continue to be celebrated throughout the Arab world today.

أطلق معهد قطر لبحوث البيئة والطاقة، التابع لجامعة حمد بن خليفة، مشروعًا تجريبيًا يرمي إلى تقديم حلول تكنولوجية متقدمة تعتمد على توليد الطاقة الصديقة للبيئة والمستدامة للمزارع التجارية في دولة قطر.

وفي إطار المشروع التجريبي، دخل معهد قطر لبحوث البيئة والطاقة في شراكة مع مزرعة واقعة جنوب غرب الدوحة. ويهدف المشروع إلى بناء نظام متكامل للألواح الشمسية الكهروضوئية من أجل توفير الطاقة الكهربائية المطلوبة للمزرعة لاستخدامها في الري والإضاءة والتبريد.

Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), has launched a pilot project to provide advanced technological solutions for the supply of greener and more sustainable solutions to commercial farms in Qatar.

As part of the initiative, QEERI has partnered with a farm that is located to the south-west of Doha. The project aims to build an integrated solar photovoltaic (PV) system to supply the required electrical energy to the farm for irrigation, lighting and cooling.

أعلنت جامعة حمد بن خليفة عن إطلاق خمس دورات مجتمعية، في إطار مبادراتها التوعوية المستمرة لتعزيز مفهوم التعلم مدى الحياة وتشجيع جهود التطوير الشخصي المتواصل بين جميع أفراد المجتمع على نطاقٍ واسعٍ.

وقد صُممت دورة "القيادة من خلال اكتشاف الذات"، التي تُعقد خلال الفترة من 18 – 23 فبراير، لمساعدة المشاركين على اكتشاف نقاط قوتهم وضعفهم لتمكينهم من تحقيق النجاح الوظيفي. وسيتعرف الحضور على كيفية تطوير مهارات القيادة بناءً على الصفات الفريدة لشخصيتهم، بغرض أداء دور أكثر فعالية في بيئة العمل.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) has opened registration for five community courses, as part of its ongoing outreach initiative to encourage lifelong learning and continuous personal development among the wider community.

From February 18-23, the 'Leadership: Through Self-Discovery' course will help participants to uncover their personal strengths and weaknesses to enable career success. Attendees will learn how to develop leadership skills based on their unique personality traits, in order to play a more active role in their working environment.

عقد الدكتور أحمد مجاهد عمر حسنه، رئيس جامعة حمد بن خليفة، اجتماعًا مع السيد فلاديمير فورونكوف، وكيل الأمين العام لمكتب الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة الإرهاب، وذلك بمقر الأمم المتحدة في نيويورك، لمناقشة الدور الأساسي والحتمي للتعليم في مواجهة التطرف، وتعزيز التسامح والتعاطف والتفاهم. وناقش الدكتور حسنه والسيد فورونكوف الإمكانات الواعدة للتعاون بين مؤسسات التعليم العالي والهيئات الدولية في سبيل توفير حلول مستدامة بهدف التصدي للتحديات التي تواجه النازحين في أعقاب النزاعات المتنامية.

Dr. Ahmad M. Hasnah, President of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), recently met with Mr. Vladimir Voronkov, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Office, at the UN Headquarters in New York, to discuss the imperative role of education in countering extremism and nurturing tolerance, empathy, and understanding. Dr. Hasnah and Mr. Voronkov discussed the potential of collaborations between higher education institutes and international bodies to create sustainable solutions to address challenges facing displaced people in the wake of growing conflict.

يزور الدكتور سي موهان، خبير الحوسبة المعروف عالميًا وزميل شركة IBM الأمريكية الشهيرة، دولة قطر في وقت لاحق من الشهر الحالي؛ لإلقاء محاضرة بعنوان "حالة سلاسل البيانات العامة والخاصة: الخرافات والحقيقة".

وتأتي هذه الزيارة في إطار ورشة عمل سلسلة البيانات، التي يستضيفها معهد قطر لبحوث الحوسبة، التابع لجامعة حمد بن خليفة.

Globally renowned computing expert and IBM Fellow, Dr. C. Mohan, is to visit Qatar to deliver a lecture, “State of Public and Private Blockchains: Myths and Reality,” later this month.

His visit will form part of a blockchain workshop hosted by Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University.

For decades, Dr. Mohan has been a major influencer in the field of computer science. He is a well-known inventor of ARIES, a database of algorithms, and a distributed commit protocol called Presumed Abort.
