السيرة الذاتية
Dr. Noor Al-Maslamani, a recent PhD graduate in musculoskeletal biology (medicine) from the University of Liverpool (2024), specializes in mechanobiology and regenerative therapies, with a focus on cellular and tissue repair strategies. With a master’s degree in biomedical sciences and a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronic engineering, Dr. Al-Maslamani’s multidisciplinary background places her at the intersection of engineering and biology.
Her research investigated Low-Density Lipoprotein Receptor-Related Protein 1 (LRP1) in mechanotransduction, examining its role in cell mechanics, responsiveness to biophysical cues, and its level in the current autologous chondrocyte implantation culturing strategies that induce de-differentiation and re-differentiation of chondrocytes.
Dr. Al-Maslamani’s expertise extends to applied research and prototype development, where she translates theoretical concepts into practical solutions. She is currently applying her engineering skills in vessel instrumentation, control, and design—gained from her experience in the oil and gas industry—to develop culturing strategies that investigate cellular responses under physiological mechanical forces, aiming to replicate biological environments. Her projects include the modification of the CELLSTAR® CELLREACTOR TUBE for 3D mechanical stimulation cultures and the development of a controlled 2D cell stretcher.
She recently joined the diabetes research group, where she intends to continue applying her multidisciplinary approach to diabetes research.
