This seminar will showcase Dr. Samir Sweida-Metwally’s study titled “A Job, But Not Necessarily a Good One: The Employment Reality of Muslim Women in Britain.” Using the UK Household Longitudinal Study, this research reveals disparities in job quality experienced by Muslim women in Britain, with significant variations across occupational classes. In doing so, Dr. Samir fills a crucial gap in understanding the Muslim penalty by exploring the intersection of job quality and religious inequality.
