The College of Science and Engineering (CSE) currently offers the largest selection of programs within the university and aspires to be a leading college committed to excellence in research and education with a major emphasis on interdisciplinary research and scholarship. It has established three divisions: the Division of Information and Computing Technology, Sustainable Development, and the Division of Engineering Management and Decisions Sciences. CSE faculty members are internationally recognized for pursuing high-impact research addressing societal and economic needs in Qatar and globally.
The Mechanical Engineering Program at the College of Science and Engineering (CSE) invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The role focuses on Design, Materials, and Manufacturing for Precision Health and Medicine within the Biomedical Engineering field. Outstanding candidates with exceptional research and academic records may be considered for appointment at the Assistant Professor level.
Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in emerging biomedical technologies that integrate advanced biomaterials, digital manufacturing, and precision healthcare solutions. Areas of interest include but are not limited to, biomaterials for regenerative medicine, biofabrication, 3D/4D bioprinting, AI-driven design for healthcare applications, robotic-assisted biomedical manufacturing, bioinstrumentation, and biosensors.
- Develop and lead an impactful research program addressing biomedical engineering challenges.
- Engage in interdisciplinary collaborations with healthcare institutions and biomedical researchers and foster partnerships with industry and clinical stakeholders.
- Play a leading role in strengthening the connection between the College of Science and Engineering and the medical community in Qatar and beyond.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mechanical engineering and biomedical engineering.
- Supervise graduate students and mentor postdoctoral researchers.
- Doctorate in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited university.
- Demonstrated scholarly record in biomedical design, biomaterials, and manufacturing for precision health, with a relevant Ph.D. dissertation and publications in reputable, high-impact journals.
- Strong commitment to teaching excellence and curriculum development.
- Ability to establish and sustain a viable research program.
- Engagement in professional and institutional service.
