Dr. Rakels pioneered a transformative and immersive experience known as the Perspectivity Challenge, which is a form of “serious play” pedagogy. This methodology plases participants in the shoes of influential decision makers, tasked with the expansion of a virtual economy on a dynamic game board.
Throughout the challenge, teams are confronted with a plethora of complexities mirroring those faced by our real-world leaders. Encountering growth spurts, resource constraints, international negotiations, economic downturns, and conflicts, the players are compelled to grapple with the critical trade-off between pursuing short-term economic growth and ensuring long-term sustainability.
