CIS Holds Conference on Utilizing the Sirah of the Prophet (PBUH)

Event gathered international scholars to discuss utilizing the Sirah of the Prophet (PBUH) to address contemporary problems

Titled “The Sirah of the Prophet (PBUH) and Civilization,” the conference covered themes focusing on the Sirah and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

The Muhammad Bin Hamad Al Thani Center for Muslim Contribution to Civilization at Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) College of Islamic Studies (CIS) invited Islamic scholars from around the world for a two-day conference from March 1-2, 2023, titled, “The Sirah of the Prophet (PBUH) and Civilization.”

Participants convened to highlight how the Sirah of the Prophet (PBUH) can be utilized to address contemporary problems and discuss how the Muhammadan model could help address prominent problems in contemporary civilization.

The conference featured scholars giving presentations on themes including the personality and non-Muslim perceptions of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as well as the Sirah of the Prophet (PBUH)’s significance and status in Islam, and how it can be carried forth to the modern day and into the future.

CIS is a result of a visionary approach to Islamic studies and the thought leadership that defines its contributions on the national, regional, and global scales. The College is a uniquely composed platform that contributes to the intellectual debate and constructive dialogue surrounding Islam in a global context.
