Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) programs are witnessing continuous growth as evidenced by a year-on-year expansion of the University’s academic offerings. This month, HBKU will be hosting its annual Graduate Studies Open House on November 27 where prospective students will have the opportunity to learn about the University’s degrees and academic programs.
The event allows prospective students to explore a range of undergraduate and graduate programs as presented by the University’s expanding colleges – the College of Islamic Studies, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Science and Engineering, College of Law and Public Policy, and the College of Health and Life Sciences.
HBKU’s, deans, associate deans, faculty members, and admissions staff will be available to meet prospective students and answer questions about the University’s dynamic graduate programs and admissions.
As the University invites applicants from Qatar and all over the world, Dr. Yousef Haik, associate provost at HBKU, notes: “HBKU’s steady growth positions it as a leading cultivator of innovative thought and a pioneer in academic excellence. The University looks forward to welcoming its next cohort of applicants and accepted students, who would be set to forge ahead and achieve their utmost potential at HBKU.”
A keynote address will be delivered by the deans, and will include an overview of the University’s interdisciplinary approach to driving excellence in the academic curriculum, giving students the opportunity to engage, inquire and discover using creative methods.
Attendees can also engage with faculty members, admissions team and alumni to understand how the university implements innovate tactics within a core curriculum.
In addition to nurturing potential and advancing a spirit of transformative leadership across its programs, HBKU is part of an ecosystem that presents many exciting opportunities. The University places emphasis on promoting lifelong learning through a comprehensive and fully integrated academic environment, and seeks to instill core skills such as critical and innovative thinking in all of its endeavors.
The University and its five colleges are located within Qatar Foundation’s vibrant Education City campus, which offers a full range of facilities to support academic excellence and development.
The Graduate Studies Open House is the second of several planned events that focus on welcoming potential students to HBKU. Last month, HBKU participated in Discover Education City, a Qatar Foundation-led initiative bringing together eight global campuses and HBKU’s homegrown endeavors under its roof. Over the span of this academic year, several college-specific information sessions will be held to further promote a better understanding of HBKU’s unique offerings.
As an inseparable aspect of the event, HBKU will officially announce the launch of its admissions cycle on November 27. Access to the University’s online application system will be made available to prospective students.
HBKU aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice by working with three research institute of excellence: Qatar Biomedical Research Institute, Qatar Computing Research Institute, and Qatar Environment and Energy Institute. The institutes work in tandem with HBKU’s colleges to provide practical applications of all of the work conducted through the University’s programs.
Students wishing to attend the Graduate Open House to understand more about master’s or doctoral degrees for the next academic year may visit the Multaqa Building (formerly the Education City Student Center).
