CPP Organizes International Development Evaluation Training Program
“Taqyeem” delivered in partnership with Canada’s ENAP
Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) College of Public Policy (CPP) recently partnered with Canada’s École Nationale d'Administration Publique (ENAP) to deliver the "Taqyeem" International Training Program for Development Evaluation.
Organized by the CPP’s Social Policy and Evaluation Research Program (PROSPER) and ENAP, “Taqyeem” is a groundbreaking training initiative that effectively marries theoretical foundations with practical application. Since June 2021, the program has successfully trained over 200 professionals from across the Middle East and North Africa, significantly contributing to and enhancing the region’s evaluation capabilities.
Held November 13 at Education City’s Minaretein, “Taqyeem” was attended by over 30 State of Qatar officials who engaged in a rigorous exploration of practical competencies and skills in planning and conducting evaluations. The course also offered a comprehensive analysis of various evaluation concepts, approaches, and methodologies within the context of development.
Dr. Anis Ben Brik, Associate Professor and Founding Director of PROSPER, said: "‘Taqyeem' represents a pivotal step in strengthening the strategic capabilities of policymakers in Qatar. In an era of rapid global change and complexity, this training offers not just knowledge, but a transformative experience that equips leaders with the tools necessary for effective and forward-thinking policy evaluation. The impact of 'Taqyeem' extends beyond individual learning; it is about building a robust foundation for informed decision-making and excellence in Qatar."
