Students in grades 6-8 are invited to design and build their own pinewood derby cars! An American tradition, you’ll turn a simple block of wood into an unpowered, unmanned miniature car and gravity race them down the track. While having a bunch of fun racing, you’ll also be learning and experimenting with the engineering of these cars. You’ll study topics such as potential and kinetic energy, friction, air resistance, weight distribution, and statistics. We expect you to be creative and innovative in both the engineering and design of each racer. Participants will use science and physics to engineer the fastest car in Qatar!
