Maker Majlis, in partnership with Minaretein Center, launched a lecture series on Surah Al-Isra and Al-Aqsa Mosque, aimed at deepening the Islamic understanding of the sacred teachings of Islam. It is an ongoing initiative, led by the renowned Sheikh Abdur-Raheem McCarthy, Islamic scholar, educator, and lecturer.

The program, open to the public but with a specific focus on university students, offered an opportunity to delve into the depths of Islamic knowledge through the tafsir and memorization of Surah Al-Isra. The series of lectures sought to strengthen the bond between young hearts and the Qur’an, focusing on the intricacies of Surah Al-Isra and its significance in the journey of Isra and Mi’raj.

In light of contemporary events, particularly the ongoing Zionist aggression in Palestine, the choice of Surah Al-Isra was deliberate. This sacred text provides a Qur’anic perspective on current affairs, fostering a deep spiritual connection between the youth and Al-Aqsa Mosque—a revered site of pilgrimage for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)—and the sacred land of Palestine. Through a series of lectures, participants gained insights into Islamic values that promote unity and solidarity within the ummah and society at large.

The program culminated with a competition for university students from Qatar Foundation on the memorization and interpretation of Surah Al-Isra. This competition not only encouraged memorization of the Holy Qur’an but also promoted a positive connection between young hearts and the Qur’an in the process.
