Maker Majlis, in partnership with Minaretein Center, concluded its 5-part series on Al-Aqsa Mosque in the Holy Qur’an by Sheikh Abdur-Raheem McCarthy with a student competition. The competition encouraged the memorization of the Holy Qur’an as a means to promote spirituality and positive connection between youth and the Qur’an.

The competition is a tribute to the profound words of the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH): "Recite and go up in ranks as you used to recite in the world. Your rank will be at the last verse you recite." The memorization process was designed to be a transformative experience, reinforced by weekly halaqas to offer guidance and support throughout.

The College of Islamic Studies at HBKU hosted an awards ceremony to recognize these efforts as well as celebrate the winning participants.

One student reflected on her experience: "I am grateful for the experience already. The lecture series alone was so bountiful, and you also brought such a nice teacher, ustadha Iman, for the hifz program, which really improved my awareness of my qira'a, Alhamdulillah."

Maker Majlis and Minaretein Center are committed to the transformative power of education and spiritual enrichment, and providing opportunities to integrate the Holy Quran into daily life.
