Arab Changemaker Awards 2023 Sees Participation from CPP
CPP is one of the key partners in the Rising Arab Changemaker Awards 2023, launched for the first time in the Arab region. Dr. Evren Tok, Associate Professor at the College of Islamic Studies and Adjunct Professor at CPP, represented HBKU and the college as a speaker at the launch, hosted by Lebanon’s Shabab Lab on October 28. As a key partner, CPP will be involved in evaluating the applications received from youth around the world and in other roles.
The award aims to attract youth in the Arab world who have been able to contribute clearly towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through their voluntary, innovative, impact-driven, and entrepreneurial initiatives in social and other development fields.
This award will recognize rising changemakers in the region and, by showcasing success stories, inspire young people to act as positive catalysts for change in their local communities, as well as empower youth locally and globally. The finalists will be featured and showcased in different ways, with opportunities to receive support and training before the judging and final voting stage.
CPP encourages high-school or university students aged 13 - 21 from Qatar or living in the region for more than two years who are active in their communities to submit their applications. This will be an opportunity for youth to be recognized as inspirational, impactful changemakers and responsible innovators, advancing the SDGs through their exceptional social and community involvement.
Finally, applications will close on January 28, 2023. For more details on submitting a nomination, interested youth can visit https://raca.shabablab.com and also view the livestream recording of the launch here.
