The College of Public Policy (CPP) recently organized an immersive experience centered around the Inner Development Goals (IDGs), an non-profit initiative that complements the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Featuring a mix of collaborative design activities, presentations and discussions, Co-Design For Humanity: Equity and Inclusive Futures highlighted the IDGs’ commitment to fostering skills and qualities for living purposeful, sustainable, and productive lives. Participants also explored the integration of IDGs with traditional and cultural knowledge, specifically focusing on sustainable development within Qatar and around the world.

Co-Design For Humanity: Equity and Inclusive Futures also celebrated the CPP becoming Qatar’s first official IDGs Hub. In doing so, the CPP joins a global network of over 450 community hubs that research, collect, and communicate science-based skills and qualities that support the IDGs’ mission and objectives.

Speaking after the workshop, Dr. Evren Tok, Associate Dean for Community Engagement, CPP, said: “The IDGs fill a critical gap in the SDGs mission to foster peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. Specifically, the IDGs emphasize the importance of inner capacity development for positive change. Examples include the development of critical thinking skills, encouraging inclusive mindsets, and intercultural competence, to name but a few. We look forward to further elaborating on the importance and values of the IDGs to the local community in our new role as a community hub.”
